Hello and welcome!
I'm Nikki, transplanted Idahoan-turned-suburban-Seattleite, former cardiac sonographer, current wife/mother/domestic engineer. I live in a cozy little treehouse with Mike, who made me his Mrs. on July 18, 2009. This man loves me something fierce, makes me laugh like no one else, and has these gorgeous blue eyes that regularly render me speechless. He's 100% man, yet a hopeless romantic too--our first date and the day we got engaged are ample proof of that!
Little Miss Peanut, Elaina Rae, made our family three on June 27, 2012. She is gift and grace wrapped in the kissiest, smiliest, happiest, talkative-est little package. We love her so! When I was 30 weeks pregnant, she was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a potentially life-threatening anomaly that had gone undetected on an earlier ultrasound. The first eight days of her life alone are resplendent with God's grace!
Most days find me busy taking care of Lainie and our home. It's hard work, but I love it! I'm so thankful for a husband who values me being a stay-at-home-mom and works extra hard so we can live on one income.
I love the Children's Indie station on Pandora.
I wish I had more time to read...you never know what you have until it's gone, right?!
I often wonder, "Should I cut my hair?"
Coffee needs cream and sugar to be drinkable.
BUT Oregon Chai Tea Lattes are my new thing--I buy the concentrate at the grocery store. Trying to cut back on caffeine and all.
Having a beautiful, welcoming, restful home is really important to me. Like, really really important. I love decorating and tweaking the rooms in our house.
I'm a neat freak...I hate clutter.
In the history of our marriage, we have never owned a television.
But I'm totally hooked on Once Upon A Time and Big Bang Theory...via Hulu.
Lists make me happy.
I love to decorate with photos. There are lots of pictures of Mr., Peanut, and me in our home.
I used to talk to myself all.the.time. Even as an adult. Not sure why I stopped.
Pinterest is the most amazing, inspiring, and time-sucking thing on the internet!
I can't stand dirty dishes. Washing dishes is my least favorite chore but I'm practically compulsive about it.
I hardly cooked at all before Mike and I got married. Now it's one of my favorite things.
I'm just a character in Jesus' story...living the truth of His wild grace is why He made me.
